Stickability!

In this hasty society and microwave generation, I believe we have lost our stickability.  We no longer have the patience needed to see our dreams, ideas, wishes come to fruition.  And by patience I mean it in it’s highest form.  Which means being able to wait with a fresh, hopeful, buoyant heart, amusing yourself meanwhile, keeping your purpose always firm, but not dwelling on it in anxiety and suspense.

Whew!  That’s a mouthful isn’t it?  But sitckability is the master key and it requires patience.  The first requirement for patience is controlled imagination.  It is difficult to cultivate and maintain stickability if we allow our imagination to run rampant in such a way that it creates confusion, anxiety, and worry.

We must consciously use our imagination to transform.  What is it that you want?  Does your inner talk feed your imagination in such a  way that it matches what you want?  Have you explored what your feelings will be upon fruition of whatever it is that you desire?

Franklin Covey says to begin with the end in mind.  I think this quote also applies to stickability because the more you can see the end results in your imagination of your wish fulfilled, more of what you want will materialize in your world.

How do we master this art of stickability?  I’m glad you asked.  For thirty days, try this experiment from The Strangest Secret:

  1. Write what you want most on an index card. On the back, put the scripture Mt. 7:7-8.  Read this often with optimism and hope throughout the day.  Definitely read it in the morning when you first arise and at night before you go to bed.
  2. Do more than you have to at work, home, etc.
  3. Give more of yourself.
  4. Save 10% of your earnings.
  5. Stop thinking about what it is you fear.  Each time a fearful or negative thought comes into your mind, replace it with a mental picture of your positive and worthwhile goal.

To reinforce your stickability, practice sticking with anything you start….a choice, task, project until it’s completed.  Remember, stickability (persistent desire or demand) in thought for the better is the real force, impelling evolution from the lower to the higher.

Try it for thirty days and learn how to think yourself to success!

Cheers! ♥♥♥
