Japanese fan lobster

Inhabits sandy and muddy seafloors, usually hiding in the sand. It reaches around 20 cm in length. It can be distinguished from the smooth fan lobster (Ibacus novemdentatus) by the many spines on the outer edge of the carapace. It is edible and tasty.
