Faye, the famous resident of Manlius' Swan Pond and mother of four baby swans, has been killed according to Manlius Police.

The Town of Manlius Police Department has arrested Eman Hussan, 18, of Syracuse, a 16 and 17-year-old juvenile from Syracuse in connection with the killing of Faye and the stealing of the four cygnets.

A source familiar with the investigation into Faye's death confirms she was stolen by a 16-year-old and then eaten on Memorial Day by the teen's family.

According to a tweet from the Manlius Police Department, the four cygnets were located Tuesday morning and are safe and healthy.

Two of the cygnets were located at Black Friday Bins in the Shop City Plaza in the Town of Salina. Upon further investigation, Manlius Police located the two remaining cygnets at a home on Lilac Street in the City of Syracuse.

Town of Manlius Police Sgt. Ken Hatter confirmed police were made aware Faye and the cygnets were missing after the Memorial Day parade Monday. Faye had been last seen Saturday morning during a feeding, police said.

Manny, the father of the four cygnets, was not removed from the pond.

Manlius has been synonymous with swans for generations. For more than 100 years, the Swan Pond has served as a village landmark and signs throughout the village proudly display a swan logo.

In 1905, swans were first introduced to the pond. Typically, the male and female, Manny and Faye, produce cygnets around Memorial Day or shortly after. The State Department of Environmental Conservation considers mute swans an invasive species, so the village is only allowed to keep Manny and Faye.
