Comments: This deciduous tree grows 25-30' tall and wide. Hybrid between kobus and star magnolia originating at The Arnold Arboretum in 1939. Single white flowers open in April. Fruits mature pinkish red in upright cone-like structures (September/October). Excellent specimen for large spaces. Flowers late enough to survive most late frosts. Plant in full sun, moist, well-drained soil. Transplant in spring only.
