Abstract: Watercolour medical illustration depicting an aneurism. It has the alternative reference number 1266, P1A and 210 on the front. The Richmond Hospital Museum reference is C.e.18. The entry for this in P263/1 pg. 27 reads 'Aneurism of the Arteria Innominata. Paul Cassidy aet 60. Dr Hutton'. The artist's name is in the bottom right corner 'J. Connolly' and in the right corner '[C]ase of Paul Cassidy Aet 60'. The typescript note under the illustration reads 'Aneurism of the Arteria Innominata'. The handwritten note on the back reads 'Richmond Hospital Museum. In July 1840 this patient began to suffer severely from pains in the head & in the back of the neck, & from cough, coming on paroxysms, he was admitted July 1st 1842, one month only before which, he noticed a pulsating tumour near the right sterno-clavicular articulations, & suffered severe pain in & around this situation; the sternal end of the clavicle was thrown considerable forwards & upwards, the pulse in the right radial artery was not affected; his voice was hoarse; he had cough, dyspnoea & neuralgic pains referred firstly to the situation of the clavical plexus. Six weeks before his death, the tumour enlarged considerably. He died of an acute attack of pneumonia. Cast No. 210. Prepn. B.c.2 N58'.
