Description

Because of the great interest I took this specimen from my collection. I had brought only a handful of pieces from my trip to the Senegalese phosphate mines in 2007 (rests only one sample in my own collection). The black spots in the beige colored fluorapatite (nice, botryoidal aggregates by the way - resembling the famous staffelite) are microscopic ernienickelite crystals according to the German dealer Gunnar Färber, who got a few pieces from me (all sold at one show) and had it analyzed. This was then the second known locality for ernienickelite.
