A Lavandula x intermedia selection popular for its strong fragrance and floriferousness. A low maintenance, evergreen shrub that forms a rounded mound, 2 to 3 feet wide and tall. New foliage emerges bright green and ages to grey-green. Blooms summer into fall with long wands of dark lavender purple flowers that attract a myriad of pollinators, particularly bees. Useful as a low hedge and striking when planted in masses. Be sure to shear on occasion to encourage blooming, and prune once a year in late summer or early fall to maintain compact form. Plant in full sun to part shade inland. Performs best in less fertile, sharply-draining soil. Water occasionally to infrequently once established. Flowers are edible and retain their strong fragrance when dried.
