SUMMARY
Thallus crustose, ± immersed, chalk white to pale fawn, often pinkish when fresh, not corticate. Photobiont Trentepohlia.
Anamorph: Conidiomata pycnidia, frequent, of two types: (a) 80-120 µm diam., with macroconidia 7.5-10 (-12) × 3.5-6.5 μm, cylindric-ellipsoidal to obovoid, 0(-1)-septate; (b) 30-60 µm diam., with microconidia 3.5-4 × 0.5-0.8 μm, bacilliform.
Teleomorph: ascomata perithecia, 220-360 µm diam. and 200-300 µm tall, often matt or ± pruinose due to a thin covering of bark cells. Involucrellum brown, K+ greenish. Interascal tissue of pseudoparaphyses 0.5-1.5 μm diam., persistent, much branched, the cells 4-10 μm long. Asci 35-42 × 12-17 μm, obpyriform, thick-walled and fissitunicate, 8-spored. Ascospores 14-16 × 4.5-5.7 μm, 1-septate, constricted at the septum, with short uniguttulate upper cell and an elongate, biguttulate lower cell with a median constriction, with a narrow gelatinous sheath.
