SUMMARY
Thallus crustose, consisting of undulating areoles which are minutely lobate at the margin of the thallus. The areoles are rimmed with coarse, shiny, ± spherical blastidia, 50-100 μm diam.
Anamorph: not recorded.
Teleomorph: ascomata apothecial. Apothecia adnate to sessile, thalline margin usually obvious, sometimes excluded. Paraphyses widening to 6 µm at tips. Ascospores (10.0-)11.0-14.5(-15.0) × (5.5-)6.0-8.7(-9.0) μm, with angular walls.
Chemistry: all parts K+ purple.
