The Pulchella tulip is a bulbous plant that grows in the wild in Turkey, Iran and Iraq. It has recently become a botanical tulip variety that is broadly grown as an ornamental. plant. It is a simply beautiful dwarf tulip. It develops carmine-pink tear-shaped petals. Their broader bases are yellow and form a dot inside the flower. The slightly darker stripes can be observed at the outer side of the petals. The large flowers that unfold from the spherical bulbs fully open on sunny days. The leaves of the presented variety are long, lanceolate, grey-green with a dark red edges. They shoot from a bulb forming rosettes. In early spring one, less often two or three, bud appears on the flower stalk. The colourful, vividly coloured tufts are perfect for rock and Alpine gardens. They will sparkle with their satin petals when grown on the borders. These bright flowers look adorable in pots and planters too. The Odalisque variety comes with many advantages. It is easy to grow and take care of. It will add colour to the still grey surroundings after the winter. It is widely recognized as the tiny garden champion.

The low growing tulips are usually easy to cultivate. They grow best on sunny or partially shady sites that are moderately moist. The soil needs to be fertile, permeable and moderately compact. The bulbs of the botanical tulips are usually smaller than those of the traditional varieties. Plant them in autumn at the depth that equals two or three heights of the bulb and in similar distances. Water the site after planting the bulbs. We recommend to cover it with dry leaves or twigs before the winter.

Each package contains 50 bulbs of the Pulchella Odalisque tulip, sized 6 to 7 cm in circumference. The basic plant information and growing instructions were printed on the package label.
