Providence, R.I.—Rhode Island College has named Justin Jelks as the athletic facility and events management and operations assistant. He will work primarily with Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic and Recreational Facilities Andy Coughlin.

"I am very excited to welcome Justin to the staff," Coughlin said. "He will be a tremendous addition to the athletic department and specifically in my area. Justin will help us maintain and oversee the vast number of facilities we have in athletics and recreation."

"I am excited to have this opportunity to be working with RIC Athletics!" Jelks stated. "I will take pride in ensuring all student athletes and fans have a great experience during our events."

The Ypsilanti, Michigan native comes to the college after a serving as the University of Michigan's marching band logistics and operations assistant. Jelks was also an athletic facilities assistant at Michigan and a facilities and operations assistant at Eastern Michigan.

He earned a bachelor's degree in sport management, while minoring in management, from Eastern Michigan in 2023.
