Hamm Signs NFL Contract With Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore native was a five-time All-Patriot League selection and a two-time conference player of the year

EASTON, Pa. – Malik Hamm, Lafayette's career sacks leader and a five-time All-Patriot League selection, has signed an undrafted free agent contract with the Baltimore Ravens.

One of the best ever to don the Maroon and White, Hamm earned FCS All-America honors from the Associated Press and STATS Perform following his final season on College Hill in 2022 when he was also named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year.

"This means a lot. Growing up, I always watched the Ravens play on Sundays, so being able to put on the uniform means a lot," Hamm said. "I'm just ready to put in the work to be the best player that I can be. And, I'm just thankful to my family, coaches, and teammates for helping me get here."

"Malik has worked so hard and has earned the opportunity to play in the NFL. Our staff is so happy for him and his family," said John Troxell, the Fred M. Kirby II '42 Head Football Coach. "We can't wait to watch him live his dream."

The defensive lineman was also the Defensive Player of the Year in his 2019 sophomore campaign, a season after earning Patriot League Rookie of the Year honors to start his career. He is in esteemed All-Patriot League company, as he is the lone student-athlete in Patriot League football history to secure All-Patriot League laurels on five occasions (four first-team selections and one second-team honoring).
 
Hamm leaves Lafayette as the school's career sacks leader, and appropriately the final play of the final game of his collegiate career was a game-ending sack of Lehigh's quarterback in a 14-11 win in #Rivalry158 on Nov. 19. Hamm finished with 32 career sacks, bookending his career with 8.5 sacks each in his first and final seasons on College Hill. The Psychology major ranks fourth in the Patriot League annals for career sacks.
 
Hamm played in 48 career games on College Hill, with 46 starts, ending his career with 233 total tackles, 50 tackles for loss (TFL), 12 pass breakups, eight forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and four blocked kicks.
