Every year, the National Charity League recognizes senior girls and their family for their commitment to improving their community.
According to their website, “NCL Inc. is non-profit national organization of mother and daughter members in Chapters across the United States” (NationalCharityLeague.org). The mission of this organization is for mothers and daughters to develop leadership and cultural awareness with each other.
A group of fifty students and seven faculty chaperones traveled to Ghent, WV to spend the long weekend on the slopes. Getting a head start on the Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend, the group left bright and early Friday, Feb. 18. This retreat is offered to all high school grades with the chance to sign up months in advance.
The Christian Life Ski Retreat is planned to make sure students can get the same exciting experience as previous years. Christian Life Director Alex Bufton said, “I have to book the house a year in advance,” which means that the students are going back to the same house to make more memories that will stay with them for many years to come. “A lot of time is spent planning the transportation, ski rentals and food for everyone,” said Bufton. What was your most embarrassing Wesleyan moment?
At the semifinals in soccer my sophomore year against Holy Innocents, I was grabbing snacks during halftime and I was running back to get in the huddle and I jumped over a sewer and landed on a water bottle and broke my foot. It’s okay though because Lucy Mitchell went in and played instead of me. She did fine.
What is one thing you wished you had done in high school?

If you had 24 hours left to live, what would you do?
I would go to Krystal with all of my best friends.
What was your dream job when you were a little kid versus what is your dream job now?
