While there are many other varieties of Viburnum other than the Cranberry varieties we have not generally carried them. The only other variety of Viburnum that we carry that is not one of those cranberry types is the traditional Snowball viburnum that has bright white blooms in early spring.

A selected compact strain of V. opulus. Single white flowers in April and May followed by showy, scarlet fruit which hangs on until spring. Excellent in mass plantings. More spreading than V. trilobum 'Compactum'.

Dwarf European Cranberrybush
Viburnum opulus 'Nanum'
A selected dwarf form of V. opulus. An extremely dense mounded form, requires no trimming. Foundation plant or low hedge. Does well in sun or light shade and wet or heavy soils. Rarely flowers.

Viburnum opulus 'Roseum'
A popular shrub. Large, double white flowers bloom profusely in April-May. Flowers emerge a rich chartreuse green and age a bright white. Blooms are about 4 inches across. Also known as Viburnum opulus 'Sterile'.

American Cranberrybush
Viburnum trilobum
Handsome, hardy shrub with lobed leaves. White flowers in late May mature to clusters of bright scarlet berries that last well into winter. In late fall this shrub takes on a brilliant fall reddish color.

A heavy fruiting form of Viburnum trilobum with large red fruit. The fruit is excellent tasting and is good for making preserves. Has the other characteristics of V. trilobum.

Alfredo Compact American Cranberrybush
Viburnum trilobum 'Alfredo'
This compact form of American cranberrybush was selected at Bailey Nurseries by Alfredo 'Freddie' Garcia. Similar to V. trilobum 'Compactum', it has a slightly broader, more dense form, excellent fall color, and better performance in southern climates.

Viburnum trilobum 'Bailey Compact'
This compact form of American cranberrybush was discovered by Pat Perkins at Bailey Nurseries. Formerly called Compact American cranberrybush, this hardy shrub has beautiful foliage that offers a slight red edge when new, then turns a deep red in fall. Does not flower or fruit at a young age and only lightly thereafter.

As with most woody plants, these Viburnum are often best pruned in late winter or early spring, before new growth emerges OR immediately after they have flowered in late spring and early summer.
