LOCATION

Hatterrall is situated at Cwm Farm, just two miles from the village of Longtown in the county of Herefordshire. Located on English side of the border, the Offa’s Dyke path running along the top of the farm forms the border between England and Wales.

The market town of Abergavenny lies 10 miles to the south, with the cathedral city of Hereford 20 miles to the east, and the popular ‘town of books’ Hay on Wye 14 miles north.

Hatterrall can be easily accessed from the M4 motorway at Newport or from the M50 at Ross on Wye.

Nestled at the base of Hatterrall Hill, high into the valley of Longtown, Hatterrall enjoys rugged views across the surrounding farmland.

Set right on the English-Welsh border, on a working farm, Hatterrall boasts incredible walking opportunities right from your doorstep. Explore the Black Mountains, and join the Offa’s Dyke pathway which will take you deeper into the countryside.

THE VILLAGE –

The traditional village of Longtown, Herefordshire, is often renowned for its award winning village store and 12th century Norman Castle. Whilst the nearby hamlet of Clodock is home to an authentic country pub, church and river, perfect for a spot of wild swimming.

THE TOWN –

The nearby market town of Abergavenny boasts a regular farmers market and food festival, along with nearby Crickhowell nestled within the Usk Valley and Hay on Wye with an eclectic range of book shops that all celebrate book festivals throughout the year.

TRAVEL –

WALKING/CYCLING: A vehicle is advised at Hatterrall, however if you wish to go ‘off-grid’ for the week, with numerous magnificent local walks right on the doorstep, and a nearby village store and pub, it wouldn’t be unfeasible! Furthermore, the local ‘Route 46 EBike Hire’ situated at the base of the Skirrid in Pandy (3 miles away) offers electric bike hire facilities. From £175 you can hire an electric bike for the week, allowing you to park up your car on Friday evening and not move it again, instead exploring the area by bike!

CARS: There is ample private off-road parking with access to an electric vehicle charger.

TRAINS AND PLANES: The nearest station is 7 miles away (Abergavenny) whilst the nearest airport is 1 hour away (Bristol).

MAJOR CITIES: Just one hour from Bristol and Cardiff, two from Birmingham, and three from London, Hatterrall is centrally located, ideal for guests meeting from all areas!
