Gorgeous rose: fragrance, color, and health

Originally I bought this rose because of the name (as a memory of my grandma) and beautiful photos on the website of Heirloom Roses. However, my experience of this rose went so far beyond that. This is the healthiest and strongest out of my 12 rose bushes. It was the first and only one to start having a wonderful, old-rose fragrance in its first year (three months after I received it) and continued giving me palm-size deep-pink/magenta blooms until the first killing frost. I'm thinking of buying a second Princess Elise now.

Magenta Perfume Ruffle Factory

It could be my 5b zone, …After 4 years, still not a mature size, 2 flushes of blooms & pencil-y growth that needed to be staked to hold the heavy blossoms… BUT:
- disease resistant
- INTENSE scent
-large magenta blossoms full of ruffles
- long-lasting blooms, on the plant or vase
- 3x it’s original size in the 4th summer.
I would recommend to others in my zone who are not in a hurry to fill in their garden.

Gorgeous and fragrant

My first Heirloom rose purchase of many. I love Princess Elise for her glorious, rich coloring (magenta/fuschia pink), lush petals, and wonderful fragrance. She is in her 2nd year and blooming beautifully. I am eager to watch her grow into a full blooming bush.

All I hoped for

To me, ultimately the Rose itself is my greatest influencer on how I rate quality and desirability...

I want attractive, colorful, strongly fragrant roses on a bush that is attractive, upright or filled out that is disease resistant and with attractive leaves. To top it off, I'm looking for roses that work as cut flowers that endure for several days.

I consider the following:
1. Blooming frequency
2. Fragrance (both depth and scents)
3. viable as a cut rose
4. Bloom shape & attractiveness
5. Plant form and attractive features
6. Resistance to disease
7. management requirements

YMMV ;-)

How I rate "Princess Elise":
Regular continual blooming...1
an amazing, sweet, Exceptionally fragrant, heady blooms...1
The roses are great for cutting, and last many days...1
Blooms are very shapely, attractive, heavy fully double, old rose shape, and the blooms are gorgeous. Mine are darker magenta, almost a purplish, than those in the above pictures ...1
The young plant is a little leggy and bush form, not the best, but not bad. Leaves are dark-ish...1
"Princess Elise" seems disease resistant...1
This rose is easy to manage...1

"Princess Elise" ranks an 7/7 - 100%...it hits all of my wants of a great rose.

but this is just my opinion.
Heirloom has some amazing rose varieties.
This is one of them!
