Concourse Plaza Multiplex Cinemas

Coming to 161st theater is always nostalgic! It's not the same as back in the day with people selling a bunch of light up toys and DVD's and it being a hangout spot in the food court. The theater lobby still has the same feel and look. But when you actually go inside of the theater the screen is huge but more intimate because it seems as though it's not 1000 seats per theater which is good. The SEATS RECLINE! Workers actually come in directly after the movie is over to clean the floor and seats. Would recommend. It's not what you remember it's revamped for the better!

I don't think this was a really bad theatre. I took my teen here for discount Tuesdays to see trhe emoji movie, and although I would not come here normally, but it turned out to be o.k. It was a lot of day camps there and you could sneak into other rooms to watch other movies, but the seat were ok, the bathroom was clean, it wasn't to crowed, and yes the prices were crazy. I think all movie food is to expensive.

My ending results, don't think I would go back just cause I felt really uncomfortable there with all the emptiness of the theatre and with all the kids misbehaving. I can't take that.

*UPDATE 5/2022* Theater is TEMPORARILY CLOSED. Wish they let people know that the theater is closed . But it's a decent movie theater, loved that the renovated it. All the theaters have reclining seats, which is really nice. Customer service could be better but it wasn't too bad.

I recently started going to this theater and it's great. They have mad a lot of renovations all of the theaters have recliners chair. The food is great and the staff is friendly. The tickets are affordable and on Tuesday the ticket price is lower. Would definitely recommend.

Overheard on the concession stand line: "Oh, I'm seeing Grudge Match, that movie with Kevin Hart."

That about sums up the crowd here. Do not come here expecting to see a good movie, nor a movie in which the crowd isn't talking along with the actors on screen, at the same volume.

Speaking of concession too, this chain is one of the worst. The large popcorn is about the size of a medium at other chains and there are no refills on anything. The popcorn was also stale and super buttery, even without any butter added, leaving me doubly sick from that and Kevin Hart.

The concession stand workers also move and look the way you should if you were working at this depressing, dark theater, located past an annoying walk through a dank parking garage.

Avoid this place if possible. There don't seem to be many other theaters nearby, but it's probably worth traveling to a further one to have a chance at a good moviegoing experience.

Nice job on the renovations but the staff needs some upgrading. The security guard was extremely rude and obnoxious. I was so turned off I didn't even want to see the movie I paid for. Don't waste your money!

Lousy customer service!!! Their close caption devices do not work! They don't know how to fix it. Gave me a refund and no apology for the time I lost coming here!! Empty theatres no wonder nobody comes here. Even the security guard had an attitude!!!!

Worst theater in the Bronx Why is this movie theater still open, It all makes perfect sense that part of the Bronx is really not the place were you would want to be at any time of the day. That part of the Bronx is very dangerous with all these mix races and addicts from all around the area.

The first time i came to this movie I'm not sure if it was on a Tuesday or Wednesday but all i remember paying was $6 !!! I came here with a date last minute kind of arrangement. I was so in shock with the service super slow, And the lines were long, Only like 3 people behind the counter. Even the food was cheap i was really surprise.

I order Pop Corn and it was Preheated i guess they do that so they don't have to throw it away that is really bad!

The parking is very expensive almost $20 for 3 hours.

This place needs to be shut down.

To be in the Bronx this movie theater isn't bad BUT the wait to buy any kind of popcorn, candy or drink is absolutely ridiculous. We stood in line for about 40 minutes because they only had two people working and about three movies playing around the same time. Ridiculous!

I like coming to this theater because it's cheap, close to home and there usually isn't a wait to buy tickets or snacks; but then again i usually come for the first show. I have no complaints of this place so I'll give it five stars.
