Locally owned grocery stores are hard to come by, so this is certainly worth checking out.

The store seemed clean, the staff was friendly. They lose a point for the seafood section having a slight smell to it - but otherwise it was a great stop really close to our rental place.

It did feel like the produce section was slightly limited compared to the larger chains in the area - but I get that it's probably a smart financial decision. Prices for some things were higher (produce) but cheaper for a few things I found. I couldn't find impossible or beyond beef for a dish, and the international section was really limited.

On the plus side, they had an awesome display of items you need to cook your turkey (both disposable and non-disposable turkey trays, a few different meat thermometers, a great baster, a marinating bag) - I ended up grabbing a the whole kit here to cook my turkey and it came out great.

If I lived in the area, I don't think I could make this be my one-stop grocery shopping - but I would work hard to incorporate it into my shopping.

Maybe 3.5 stars, but at the end of the day it's still a grocery store. Honestly I think it's kind of overrated. For as often as I hear "Hocker's is SO much better than [insert chain here]", I really don't get the hype. They have the usual foods but Giant or Weis is usually cheaper.

The store is clean and usually not as busy as Giant, probably because it's not directly on a main road in a large plaza like Giant is. If you need to run in and grab just a few things you'll most likely get out of Hocker's more quickly than you would at Giant down the street.

Their claim to fame might be their deli section, which I've never tried, so maybe the accolades are well-earned there. I wouldn't know. But if you're just buying your average groceries I don't think you need to pick this store over any of the other grocery places.

This store is okay for paper products, milk, etc., but avoid buying produce and bakery goods. Very disappointing. Bought arugula and basil on two occasions, both had many brown spots, wilted. Nearby Giant has better quality. Fresh Market a few miles down the road is your best bet for quality produce, fish and meat.

They've got everything that you would need from a small screw to the best meats in town!! Freshly made chicken salad the best homemade in my opinion!! And the hardware section of this store is fabulous and the sell yeti everything plus boots to get you out of the house!!! I love this store and everyone who works their is willing to help you in anyway that you could need....

They also have got some of the greatest cars that roll In

Very expensive food & other items. Giant, Weis & Food lion are cheaper. you can soend $60 on just 2 bags of groceries! outrageous. and then they want to charge you for plastic bags, wont even give free paper bags! total ripoff. their owner is probably making millions.

G&E used to be up Cedar Neck but closed a few years ago and moved to this bigger and new location. Great store with a Liberty Gas Station attached. Good selection and friendly staff.
