The best lasagne and sensation salad I've ever had in my life! Can't wait to get back to LA. See y'all in July!

How in the world have I lived in Baton Rouge for 16 years and have only just tried Pinetta's?! This place is a tiny little hole in the wall gem.
My boo and I both had horrible work days, the wait at Ruth's Chris was like 3 hours (clearly we were in treat to self mode) and we stumbled upon Pinettas. It was still Covid so we had to mask to walk in (and actually saw them turn away someone that didn't comply), but it was quiet, not difficult with just a few tables, and exactly what we both needed.
We started with a glass of red and a beer for him, and then ordered the calamari and a small Caesar to share for starters. It was pretty damn solid. Nothing out of the ordinary for either, but delicious. For dinner I ordered the ravioli and my husband got the lasagna. I'm pretty picky about pasta sauces and like them laid on thick, not just a taste, and I enjoyed both the pesto and red sauce on the lasagna. The portions were generous and we each had some to bring home! All in all a great night and definitely somewhere we would revisit.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 4Oh no 1 - Jun 15, 2023
Don't come here unless you got some time to kill. Got plans later? Tight schedule? There are other Italian places nearby that'll do for ya. Pinetta's is just a thing you gotta go in and do yourself with some time to kill, cus it's a small place that's understaffed but the food is surprisingly good. Red sauce here has deep flavors, isn't runny, and cooked in a way that I can only describe as caramelized. Look through the pictures of the interior and you'll immediately tell this place has stories to tell. Come and experience atleast one of those stories. Pinetta's has been in Baton Rouge long enough deserve a chance, and while it may not be "Best Of" in any local publications it's a long time local that may not be here much longer.

What the hell?!?! Are they closed? The owners car was there just now and the sign on the door saying closed today! Second time we drove all the way over here and it's closed! What is going on Pinetta's?!?! There was one other car there and a couple of others drove up while we were there. Losing business.

Is this place open? I hear how great the Italian food is there but in the 7-8 times I've tried to eat here it always seems to have the same sign "Pinetta's will be closed today"
I give upHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Genevieve F.Raceland, LA284025078613Feb 17, 2022
So first I didn't want a 2-top to seat me at a 4-top (when there are two of us) but is against the rules. Second, The bread isn't freshly made; It's some commercially made rolls that are alright and that are heated up at the restaurant.
The seafood ravioli was good but nothing to write home about. Their daily specials have been specials for years. They have well-priced wine and it was funHelpful 13Thanks 0Love this 11Oh no 0 - Oct 2, 2022
We have been to Pinetta's several times. It's a nice place to eat. The food here is very good and a wide menu selection too. It's a combination of Italian, German, Turkish and Arminian food! Everything is delicious!! It's quaint a little dark at the tables but not too dark. The staff is friendly, restaurant is clean and kind of jumbled, they move tables around for the size of the groups eating. It's fun, we are going back!!!

.......Let me get try and describe this place.
......We were each so interested in going to a European Restaurant, as our experience dining in Europe has always been exceedingly impeccable!
I'm not sure if it is a themed restaurant where they bring in the special effects to make this place look antiqued and authentic!
Or if it is actually all originally preserved decor, similar to an very old pub.
It is a dark roomed restaurant with table candles for light.
We sat down. A waitress did come to ask what we'd like to drink. We ordered water.
It came in small clear glasses, but was cold and refreshing!
I used my I phone light to view our surroundings. Tables and floor.
It was a bit warm there, not so much circulating air flow.
As we waited, they brought bread.
A plentiful amount of wine bottles were adorning the walls and rod iron entry ways. The patrons were patiently awaiting for their entrees, many with glasses of wine to boot!
I'd loved to of have seen the kitchen. Apparently they make up each dish one at a time, maybe in a side skillet.
It does take a bit to get your order.
Not a rush, no pre made food!
They are critical as they prepare the meals.
When the food did final come to our table, I was really surprised with the presentation of each dish.
I was more surprised how incredibly delicious the food was!
They are famous for their Red Sauce!
The Minestrone Soup was good, definitely prepared with thought in mind.
I will suggest you order from the Italian food choices. Excellent!!!
If you know true Bavarian Schnitzel, or Bratwurst I caution you to keep your expectations softened as their's is surely from a different region.
.....I would need another visit to accurately evaluate this little place further.

Nice little hole in the wall restaurant to satisfy the Italian cravings. They serve European cuisine here but their Italian selection is the best. We came here for lunch on a Tuesday so it was quite empty, but during lunch a decent number of people showed up. I got the lasagna and my friend got the pesto ravioli. Both were pretty good. Not the best in terms of taste in my opinion but the sauce was very good.
The best part for sure is the dessert. I highly recommend trying either their panna cotta or tiramisu. I'm not a huge coffee fan, but their tiramisu was out of this world. Super light and fluffy and delicious. A great way to finish a meal.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
