DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!!
If you're thinking about living in the Castilian, stop. Since move-in, there have been constant issues with the elevators and AC. The elevators are always broken and run incredibly slow--sometimes, there's even a line that trails outside the building just to use the elevator. When I first moved in, the thermostat in my room was 85 degrees, and I had maintenance come over 5+ times, and absolutely nothing was done to lower the temp in my room. Also, the food is very questionable--hair in the salad bar and undercooked chicken. You would be wasting your money by living here; try Waterloo instead.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1Business owner information

My son is Class of 2027 at UT. The cafeteria is good, food has variety, and they make an effort to give good services. The only issue is the elevator which is a constant problem. Out of 4 banks, there is always 1 down. During busy hours of the day, waiting line can be long.

I recently moved into the Castillian and I like it a lot. Draegan made move in easy and having him around is a big plus.

Overall my experience at the castillian has been pretty good. The food in the cafeteria is always ready on time and most of the time tastes very good. The gym is amazing at this building. The one thing that is kind of annoying is that some of the amenities are broken. Pool table is incredibly angled and all the balls roll down to one end. Effectively ruining the ability to play the game correctly. Other games in the lounge room are also broken or hanging on by a thread. They are still able to be used, but when I toured they looked much better than when I lived here. The front office is nice and very accommodating to all things that need to be fixed. I had some issues with water temperature occasionally but it was fixed within 24 hours. It's a pretty good place to live as a freshman and the price isn't outrageous.

While I have had a lot of trouble moving in, I'm giving the Castillian five stars because of a CA named Tabitha. She is so kind, patient, efficient, helpful and attentive to everyone's needs. I am so grateful that she was there for me today. She is the best employee.

Draegan and Reece showed me around the area and the rest of the staff gave me some good tips. The tabling event was really helpful, and all my housing questions were answered to the fullest. I'm glad I went up to them to solve some of my questions, and I got a free UT Fanny pack out of it :)

I lived here 51 years ago during the Spring semester of 1968. In reading the reviews it seems there are many complaints that have to do with the infrastructure. I would think that the ownership has changed a few times and the maintenance has gone downhill. College dorms take a lot of wear and tear. The meals weren't very good back then so I ate out a lot.
I stayed only one semester but met two friends who have become my closest friends but who I don't see as often as I like. So for that reason I raise that part of the experience to 5 stars.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information
