WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State announced the addition of 40 prep standouts on Wednesday for National Signing Day.

"We've got a great coaching staff. They worked very hard in the recruiting process," MSU coach Rich Renner said. "There are a lot of very talented players on this list. We look forward to seeing the impact they are going to have on the program."

The signing class included 26 defensive prospects and 14 on the offensive side of the ball.

Defensively, the Mustangs signed seven linebackers, six defensive ends, six defensive linemen, four safeties, two cornerbacks, and a defensive back.
 
The class also featured seven wide receivers, four offensive linemen, two running backs, and a quarterback.
 
Midwestern State inked multiple student-athletes from four schools including including five from the Wichita Falls ISD with four from Hirschi High School and another from Rider High. The Mustangs also inked two student-athletes from Royse City High School, Seagoville High School, and Houston Kashmere High.

Renner begins his first season at the helm of the MSU football program after spending the last 15 years as the defensive coordinator.
