Serapias lingua, commonly known as tongue-orchid or the tongue Serapias, is a species of orchid native to the Mediterranean.
Regular watering during the growing period is essential. Fertilized on a regular basis with 0.3g/l until flowering, once or twice a month. Reduce watering with the onset of flowers and stop as the leaves die back.
Soil type. Dry or wet meadows, slightly acid soil on limestone, full sunlight or partial shade. The plant makes long stalked tubers and many thousands of plants can be found in suitable habitat.
