Men's Basketball: A.J Wynder


AJ Wynder- Men's Basketball Coach AJ Wynder has been the Lions Head Coach since 1997. Coach Wynder before taking over the helm at NCC had a very distinguished career as a player in various professional leagues. His most notable achievements were playing in the National Basketball Association with the Boston Celtics during the (1990-91) season and winning a Silver medal competing in the Pan American Games (1995) for USA Basketball. Coach Wynder has led the Lions to three consecutive Region XV (Div. III) championships (2018, 2017, 2016) as well as five appearances at the NJCAA (Div. III) National Tournament (2020, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2014) while finishing as national runner-up in 2018. Coach Wynder won his first Region XV (Div. III) championship in (2014) while setting a school record for most wins in a season (29). Coach Wynder has had 24 consecutive winning seasons while compiling over 516 victories, ten Region XV (Div. III) title games (2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2014, 2012, 2007, 2006, 2002) and selected Region XV (Div. III) Coach of the Year four times (2017, 2016, 2014, 2002), NJCAA District 5 (Div. III) Coach of the Year four times (2018, 2017, 2016, 2014). Coach Wynder believes the greatest accomplishments of his coaching tenure have been off the court in his ability to assist numerous players' in transferring to the four-year college level (NCAA, NAIA) to further their education and to continue their basketball careers. Wynder also serves as Administrative Assistant to the Athletic Director here at Nassau. 


Women's Basketball: Brian Kuar

Women's Basketball Head Coach Brian Kuar has been the Lions Head Coach since 2017, in his time since becoming the Lions Head Coach he has never finished a season below .500 with his best season record coming in the 2019-2020 season where he finished 26-3. He has also coached several top 10 ranked teams as well as numerous First and Second Team All Americans and All Region players. 


Wrestling: Vougar Oroudjov

Wrestling Head Coach Vougar Oroudjov has been the Lions Head Coach since 2004, Previous to coaching at Nassau Oroudjov was a decorated wrestler in his own right having the accolades of 
1987 CADET European Champion, 1989 Junior World Champion Runner UP, 1990 Junior European Champion, 1991 Senior World Champion, 1992 Barcelona Olympics Bronze medal, 1993 Senior World Championships Runner Up, 1994 Goodwill Games Champion Gold Medal, 1995 European Champion, 1995 World Cup Champion, 1995 World Champion and a 1996 Atlanta Olympics Fourth Place finish. Since becoming the Head Coach he has led numerous wrestlers to Regional, District and eight to become National Champions with the most recent coming in 2017. 


Wrestling: Gary Redding


Gary Redding has been the Wrestling Director of Operations here at Nassau since 2022. He has been an instrumental part of our wrestling culture and operations. Among his knowledge of Wrestling he also has great knowledge in Lacrosse as well. Some history of Coach Redding is as follows: Wrestled for Varsity for Centereach High School from 1983 - 1987, Captain of High School team 1985, 1986, 1987, Wrestled for SUNY Binghamton 1987 - 1990, Began Coaching in 2001, Began coaching lacrosse in 2006, Began coaching wrestling in 2008, Director of Middle Country Girls Lacrosse 2009 - 2013, NYWAY LI Regional Director 2010 - 2012 (grew LI Region from 120 members to 600 members in three years), NYWAY State Co-Director from 2012 - 2019 (grew NY State membership from 1700 to 6500 in 7 years), Coached 14 girls who have gone on to play DI lacrosse, Coached 37 boys who are wrestling at the NCAA level. We look forward to having Coach Redding add to the legacy that is NCC Wrestling.

Bowling: Dr. Robert Cincotta

Head Coach of both the Men's and Women's bowling team Dr. Robert Cincotta has been at Nassau since 2021. Prior to coming to Nassau Cincotta has more than 14 seasons as an elite college coach, previously at Molloy College and Adelphi University, Dr. Cincotta has coached 58+ National Tenpins Coaches Association NTCA All-Academic Team honorees, and has led 10 NTCA Team Academic award-winning teams and 3 NTCA All American Bowlers.


Cheerleading: Laurie Kolodny

Head Coach of the Cheerleading team Laurie Kolodny has been the Lions Head Coach since 2016. In her time as the Head Coach the Lions have won back to back National Championships in 2017 and 2018. They also most recently placed eighth in the 2023 UCA Nationals. Kolodny is also the Co- President of the  Nassau County Cheerleading Coaches Association, a position she has had since 2015. She also was the recipient of the LICCA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006.
