The Nebraska Match Play Championship continued Wednesday, as former North Platte High School and Chadron Football star Danny Woodhead advanced to Thursday's quarterfinals.

The day began with the round of 32 which included 5th-seeded Reed Malleck, a York native and former Husker. Malleck advanced to the round of 16, holding a one hole lead over playing partner Matt Quandt through 16 holes. But Malleck would drop two of the final three holes, forcing a playoff which Quandt would ultimately win.

Woodhead defeated Connor Steichen with a "3 and 1" in the round of 32, but trailed his opponent Travis Minzil in the round of 16 through 14 holes before winning the final two and earning a spot in the quarterfinals Thursday.
