Juniperus sabina Tamariscifolia Group 'Arcadia'
ht: 16-20 in. tall x 3-5 ft. wide
ha: as 'Tamariscifolia' but lower, branchlets angles at 15-30 degrees, tips hooked or abruptly decurving at times
lt: more adult foliage than intermediate 'Tamariscifolia'
lc: light green by some reports.  Dirr says it is darker than 'Skandia'
dr: it has good juniper blight resistance in most evaluations.
ch: USDA 3 - a bit more cold hardy
eval: it is a good low spreading but J. chinensis 'Parsonii' seems favored for similar height and color. CALGARY CARPET is lower and often preferred.

ha: compact, slower
lc: new growth all yellow by some reports, mottled yellow overall.. It is never cream mottled as with 'Variegata'.

Juniperus sabina 'Blue Danube' ('Russian Savin No. 4', 'Blaue Donau')
ht: 12-16 in. tall x 4-6 ft. wide

lc: blue-green to greyish-green. It is one of the most glaucous members of this genus by reports.
lt: mix of adult and juvenile foliage

Juniperus sabina 'Blue Forest'
ha: multi-stems with main stems distinctly vertical. It appears to
ha: be a miniature forest of small dense conicaly blue trees. It
ha: is like a J. sabina version of the J. horizontalis 'Alpina' and 'Grey Pearl'
ha: and with age shows the same splitting effect.
ns: it has sometimes been listed under J. chinensis but we believe
ns: this species affinity to be correct. Vertical forms of J. sabina
ns: as well known and 'Erecta' is the best known one.
lc: bright blue but not silvery.
lt: mostly intermediate to highly juvenile.
in: Wayside Gardens to US? about 1986. Sometimes sold as J. horizontalis.

ns: a listed name, probably error for J. horizontalis 'Bar Harbor' or as the RHS suggests J. scopulorum 'Blue Heaven'

Juniperus sabina 'Blue Vase' (Juniperus horizontalis 'Blue Vase', NOT J. chinensis 'Blue Vase')
ha: spreading with branchlets angled at about 30-40 degrees, often dense as mature plants, very feathery and vigorous when young
lc: slightly bluer green than most adult-leaved clones, it is very a bright or rich blue as J. horizontalis clones.
ns, id: this is not the larger, vase-shaped J. chinensis clone. It often circulates under J. horizontalis and
ns, id: I discovered it around US gardens in 1983 when doing by Master's thesis on over 60 J. horizontalis
ns, id: clones. It has a faint savin-like odor and very much the habit of J. sabina. The J. chinensis clone under this
ns, id: name is bright steel blue (never this green), not wider than tall, quite large and vertical (3-6 ft. pyramidal to ovoid), and a mix of adult and
ns, id: juvenile foliage (distinctly heterophyllous).

ns, id: there may be more than one clone. The "Hillier clone" is a smaller plant at only 20cm tall in 10 years.We must admit
ns, id: the photo above from the USNA does not have the abundant juvenile, rich blue color reported for Dutch plants.

Juniperus sabina Tamariscifolia Group 'Tamariscifolia'
ht: 2-4 ft. tall x 8-12 ft. wide
ha: broadly mounded to decumbent with age, easily cascading if allowed. Well grown plants can be very beautiful for regularly
ha: plumose and angled sprays. It is wonderful trailing over rocks or walls. It is larger than virtually all J. horizontalis cultivars of the same age.
ha: A healthy, strong plant is apt to extent and droop by a series of erect shoots curving outward and up. Plants in poor health may have
ha: slower, more scaly-like, appressed needles and be less elegant. Bean  can hardly be surpassed once again: "a fine architectural
ha: plant with closely tiered branched. It is not a geographical variety, but is occasionally met with in the wild".
lt: variable from intermediate, slightly divergent to a mix of intermediate and highly divergent (juvenile, awl-shaped) foliage.
ns: we believe it's rank as a horticultural group rather than a botanical variety or forma is justified. It has more than
ns: one clone. Since it may be found in the wild (per Bean and others) it might be regarded as a simple mutation or botanical forma.
dr: common clones are very susceptible to juniper blight. Resistant clones are better in regions with this problem.
