Gwynedd: Van gets stuck on beach as tide comes in

The Coastguard were called to the incident at about 8.15pm on Saturday evening. The woman inside the vehicle made her way to safety.

A van got stuck on a beach on Saturday evening as the tide came in.

The vehicle became caught by the incoming tide at Blackrock Sands, in Porthmadog, Gwynedd, shortly after 8pm.

Criccieth Coastguard were called to the incident at about 8.15pm to reports of a woman in a van stuck on the beach.

The vehicle was submerged in water but a spokesperson for HM Coastguard confirmed the woman inside made her way to safety.

North Wales Police was also alerted of the incident.

"The vehicle was recovered from the beach later, with no pollution reported," a spokesperson for HM Coastguard added.
