This is a lovely pair of shakudo menuki from the Kyô-Kinko school. They depict two mounted Samurai racing towards each other in full armor. The base is shakudo and the Samurai and horses are a combination of shakudo, gold, silver, and copper. They are very well executed and quite detailed.
These menuki measure 2.74 cm or 1.08 inches in length and are 1.76 cm or 0.69 inches tall. The condition of these menuki is excellent and the faces of the Samurai are expressive.
