Samia plays a sold-out show at Antone’s Nightclub on February 18th with opener Annie DiRusso as a part of Samia’s US headlining tour.

Antone’s Nightclub in Austin hosted a night of female-led indie rock musicians to a sold-out crowd of eagerly anticipating fans on a cool Friday night. Attendees were presented with the rock assembly of Annie DiRusso, a 22-year-old artist who recently amplified her following on TikTok, to prepare the crowd for Samia. Fans appeared to be equally excited for the opener as well as the headliner, with most of the crowd knowing and singing along to Annie DiRusso’s popular songs. Dirusso ended her set with a choreographed act and a dramatic, lights-out finish.

Closing out the night was the 25-year old alternative musician from New York who goes by Samia, who brought whimsical elements to her melancholy lyrics with her charming stage presence and elegant dance movements. Samia  changed directions halfway through the set and performed a rendition of Alphaville’s “Forever Young.” She ended the night by performing her empowering song “Someone Tell The Boys,” and was joined by DiRusso for a powerful sing-along.  Overall, Samia brings light to her shows with her joyful energy and sweet exchanges between herself and her band members, as well as with the audience – a nice refreshing feeling as shows are picking back up.

I play in a band and some projects in my college town (mostly bass), I try to write my own music, make art, and create anything that sparks interest. I love disco music, 70's style and dancing!
