Holy Savior Church of Lomaturtskh reconsecrated in Javakhk

On June 11, the Holy Savior Church of Lomaturtskh was reconsecrated in Javakhk, reported the Georgian-Armenian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church and added the following:

“On June 11, with a population of only 350 and located in south Trialet, the Lomaturtskh village of the Akhalkalak region looked charming. The villagers of all ages, the sons and their families, friends and relatives had come to participate in the solemn ceremony of reconsecration of the Holy Savior Church rebuilt 111 years after its first consecration.

During the Soviet era, the ancient church, which had turned into a storage room for collective farmers, a bridal salon and a hall for conducting ceremonies following funerals, was quickly forgotten.

The worthy sons of the village-Sedrak and Artur Khachatryans-spent their childhood in the yard of that church and would hear their parents-Vard and Nunufar-often express pity about the church that was on the verge of collapse. In 2016, the brothers decided to restore the dilapidated church and provide their fellow villagers with the opportunity to live with faith in God, say prayers, get married with the blessing of Almighty and become baptized with the Holy Muron.”
