Details Stone, prominently situated on top of a hill. The stone is set on top of a turf-covered mound, circa 1 m high. The OS 1st and 2nd edition maps depict remains of a stone circle here, the OS Name Book 1867 recording that all that remained were three large stones, two of which appeared to be in situ. It further noted that a portion of the circle had been cultivated some years previously but 'nothing of importance was discovered'. Coles (1904) noted that only two stones remain, one standing 2 ft 10in (0.86 m) high, the other prostrate, these resting on a roughly semi-circular mound 3 ft (0.91 m) high confined by a wall. Coles suggested that the stones had been removed to this spot. OS site visit 1969 concluded that apart from the one large boulder on top of the mound there was no evidence of antiquity at this location.
