La Bratique Offers Options for Bigger Bustlines

Tracy Anderson is creating knock-out silhouettes.

There’s something so Parisian about getting buzzed into the building and climbing the short flight of stairs to . Overlooking France Avenue, the professional bra fitting boutique specializes in a largely overlooked segment of the bra wearing population: women that wear a C-cup and up. Overlooked, at least, by lingerie stores.

The boutique’s recent transition is a tribute to all the ladies who are frustrated with fit. If you’ve been told by a store fitter that you’re a perfect C or D, yet you’re still bulging out the sides, drooping in the middle or fussing with your straps looking for lift, you’re the reason boutique owner Tracy Anderson shifted the focus of her business toward those blessed with a little more bust.

Finding the perfect fitting bra requires basic understanding of brands, bands, cups and even a bit of bra history.

“Images surrounding a D-cup have been historically over-exaggerated,” explained Anderson. “For decades, manufacturers only produced bras up to a D cup. So if you were busty, you were automatically sized into a D-cup, thus the stereotype began.”

Instead of appropriate cup size, ample chests had to be accommodated by band size. A bigger band size would leave more room for fuller chests. Femme fatale Brigitte Bordot was said to wear a 36B. Today, with a wider selection of sizes, the former French fashion model may have been better suited by a 30DD.

Smaller band size provides more comfort, lift and support. As you can see from the table below, as you go down in band size, you go up in cup size.

Unfortunately, even with an improved selection of sizes, many women still wear the wrong size. This is especially true of women in the C-cup range.

"When we think of a D-cup, we think of Dolly Parton, Kim Kardashian, Holly Madison from Holly’s World," Anderson speculated. "We think that in order to be a D-cup, a woman needs to be all bust."

Thus, C-cup range women may not have an inkling that their average-to-blessed sized bust could fill a D-cup and continue to wear C’s or even B’s with bigger bands.

An expert fitter, Anderson makes sure her customers get the extra attention required to create desired shape, lift, support and comfort. She demonstrates to each client how different bras shape the bust and therefore can change an overall shape. La Bratique boasts options that so many ordinary lingerie stores lack. Just because you may have a small, hard-to-find band size or need a fuller cup, doesn’t mean you’ll have to settle for whatever the mall store offers—that stark white grandma bra on the clearance rack.

This boutique provides one-stop shopping for basic T-shirt options, fashion sets, strapless, sport, camisoles and bridal/special occasion bras. The internationally rated brands focus on high quality fabrics, excellent support and comfort to create your best silhouette.

Giving endless options to the often overlooked C's through K's,  LaBratique gets all A's.
