Are you on the hunt for a new addition to your cactus collection? Look no further than Trichocereus 'Sun Goddess' a chunky hybrid cactus with golden spines! This cactus boasts beautiful large white blooms profusely for three to four months, beginning in late spring, complemented by its striking green body.

Originally from South America, this captivating cactus is sure to bring some exotic flair to your outdoor space. Although it is known to be mildly toxic, it will make a unique and interesting addition to any garden (be sure to keep it away from children and pets), it's hardy enough for zones 9-11 (USDA) and reaches a mature size of three feet tall. Although it can survive temperatures as low as 25 degrees, this cactus is also a relatively cold-hardy species, so it should, if possible, be protected from anything below 35 degrees.

The Sun Goddess cactus is easy to maintain and only needs a little watering and partial shade (bright, indirect) as it can tolerate low light. These plants favor a well-drained soil mix with specialized cactus potting soil, so it's easy to find a cactus potting mix here at Planet Desert. Repot your Sun Goddess cactus once a year or after it doubles in size to replenish these Trichocereus hybrid nutrients. In the winter, Sun Goddess Cactus frequently go dormant, and you might notice slower growth in that period.  During this period, watering should be reduced.

But that's not all – it's also an extremely drought-tolerant species and requires minimum attention, perfect for those who may not have a green thumb.

So, if you're looking for something a little different for your cactus collection, be sure to check out the fascinating Trichoereus cactus species!
