RMU STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK (Sept. 19, 2007)
Tabbed the latest RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for the 2007-08 campaign is senior Chad Wengert of the football team. Wengert, an outside linebacker and native of Kempton, Pa., led the Colonial defense in a 28-14 victory over in-state rival Saint Francis by posting 11 tackles, his third career double-digit tackle game. Wengert also recorded two of RMU's five takeaways on the contest, forcing a fumble and notching an interception while also adding a half a sack, two pass breakups and a quarterback hurry. On the 2007 campaign Wengert owns 21 tackles, which leads the club. His 11 takedowns against the Red Flash also pushed his career total to 169, which ranks 18th all-time at Robert Morris.
