November 2 (SeeNews) - Serbia's labour ministry said Israeli semiconductor technology company Veriest has expanded its office in Belgrade, as part of a project to boost its presence in the country.
The decision of Veriest to expand its business in Serbia is a good sign as it shows that the company believes in the country and its young people, labour minister Zoran Djordjevic said during the official opening of the office, according to a press release issued by the ministry on Wednesday.
Last week, Veriest said it plans to open offices in Novi Sad and Nis.
"Everyone knows about Israeli real estate investments, but in recent years the investments have expanded to other areas, such as IT, development centres, renewable energy, and more. The companies that have come here are very satisfied and that is why I hope that there will be more and more of them," Israeli ambassador to Serbia, Alona Fisher-Kamm, said in the press release.
Veriest is headquartered in Israel and has been operating a research and development (R&D) site in Belgrade since 2010. The company, providing verification and design of application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) chips, is a subsidiary of IT software and solutions developer Aman Group.
