Boulder on Ottercops Moss, NW of Kirkwhelpington, Northumberland.
This panel sits about 600 metres WNW of Tod Crag and is referenced ‘Tod Crag 2, Ottercops Moss’ on the Beckensall Archive (BA). The archive records ‘An oval basin that is 12 x 8cm and 4cm deep and a possible cup. NADRAP added the record to ERA in 2008, describing:
‘Two cup-shaped marks, without other adornment, could be naturally formed by weathering and erosion. One is conical and the other large, deep and flat bottomed…’
On this model, the largest depression doesn’t look particularly natural.
