Anti Ragging Awareness Campaign

Swami Premanand Mahavidyalaya in Mukerian organized an Anti Ragging Awareness Campaign from August 12th to 18th, 2023, in accordance with UGC regulations. The campaign included activities such as an enactment on ‘Ragging: A Human Right Violation’, Declamation Contest, Poster making, and Slogan Writing competitions. Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma emphasized the commitment to create a healthy and respectful environment. Dr. Gurpreet, In-charge Students’ Grievances Redress Committee discussed ragging’s history, myths, and consequences, assuring the committee’s dedication to addressing student grievances. She further stated Dr. Arvind Chauhan and Dr. Gopi Sharma will always be available to take up the grievances and to overcome those too.Dr. Anjana Dadhwal, In-charge Student Council with the motto on ‘Say No to Ragging’ briefed the students about involvement of students in various functions and activities of the college to raise a dependent and confident youth. Dr. Arvind Chauhan also addressed and motivated the students. Dr. Sonia Sharma, In-charge Anti Ragging committee and the members Prof. Anuradha and Dr. Chandra Shekhar of this committee are alwayskeeping an eye on any nuisance or any interdisciplinary act being carried in the college premises. Prof. Amrinder Kaur, Professor Rekha, the members of the Student Council Committee and Prof. Shaina as cultural activity expert served as the judges of the Poster making and Slogan Writing competitions. The Declamation Contest was judged by Dr. Arvind Chauhan and Dr. Anjana Dadhwal. Prof. Meenu and Prof. Isha with the student Council members Anandika, Isha, Jyotsna and Jasleen made all the convenient arrangements to make the event a successful one.The campaign concluded with felicitation ceremony by honouring and encouraging the winners of the contest with certificates. The event concluded by vote of thanks by Dr. Anjana Dadhwal.
