Nature # 14 or the sea of white moss - yagel and other lichens!

Today I want to share some photos of our wonderful forest with you. In addition to the usual mixed forests, pine forests also exist in my habitat region. As a rule, very high and straight pines grow in borons, this pines are called ship pines. I heard that they got their name because they were used for masts of ships. I do not know if it is so or not, but the name of these pine forests is exactly like this - ship pines forests.
In this kind of forests it is usually quite damp at the expense of high green moss, which retains moisture. Pines grow at a great distance from each other and because of this the forest looks transparent and light.
But today I want to show you another forest that alternates with ship's boron, it's almost the same, but all moss is white. That's very beautiful!
White moss is called a yagel or lichen, it is a relic moss. Yagel has an unlimited lifetime, but it grows very slowly, about 3 mm per year.
In addition to the fact that this moss is very beautiful, it has antiseptic properties, so it is used as a medicine sometimes. Almost untill the Second World War, this moss was used as a dressing material.
I enjoy walking in such a forest! And there are a lot of mushrooms in the forests with white moss! :)
Yes, pine forests are special. In the pine forests, even the air is different. Breathing in these forests can be easily and freely. And walking in such forests is more pleasant and free of efforts.

You gave a great idea to me! It turns out that I've never smell this moss and I do not even know if it has any smell. I remember the scent of the forest, but I do not think that this moss has a smell at all. I'll smell it in the summer! :))
You do that and if you have enough of it, you might even get yourself with a business. :))
Fortunately, I have something to do in life :)) I was never interested in perfume business :) But I will smell the moss! :)))
