I do have an odd mind. The lilies reminded me of my 8th grade home ec teacher, who advised us always to provide color contrast in our dishes: like sprinking paprika atop a creamed dish, or parsley on mashed potatoes. The ‘sprinkled color’ on the lilies is lovely.
Or like nutmeg on rice pudding – now that takes me back!
