A number of players are expected to leave Celtic over the course of the next few months. One of them is Odsonne Edouard.

The Frenchman has been the talisman for the Hoops for a few years now. But with just a year left on his current deal, he could very well be on the way out of the club this summer.

Edouard has been brilliant through the course of his time at Parkhead and has shined for the France Under-21 side as well. As a result, if or when he does leave the club, there will not be any lack of interest in the striker’s signature.

One of the clubs that he has been most heavily linked with in recent times is Leicester City. Brendan Rodgers is the manager of the Foxes and he will know very well, what Edouard brings to the table. Thus, many expect the Frenchman to end up with the Premier League side this summer. But it looks like there might be a twist in the transfer saga.

Major twist in Edouard’s Celtic exit saga

As reported by talkSPORT, Leicester City have turned their attentions to Patson Daka after a move for Edouard stalled. The Red Bull Salzburg striker has been sensational this season and is expected to be a man in demand this summer. Of course, this could be a blow for both Celtic and Edouard.

On one hand, it does very much look like the striker is set to depart this summer. The more the interest in his services, the better for the Hoops when it comes to their chances of getting a solid transfer fee. On the other hand, Leicester City are a top 6 club in the Premier League right now and it might very well have been the move that Edouard was looking to make next.

This does not mean that Edouard’s transfer is completely off the table though. And even if Leicester City did not make a move for him this summer, other clubs are expected to be interested in signing him.
