(189) Portmahomack-Ballone Castle-Rockfield Circuit (Highland)

Route Summary
This unusual circular coastal walk across the Tarbat Ness peninsula, enjoys wonderful views of both the Dornoch Firth and the Moray Firth. There are two pretty coastal villages to explore, and a fine restored 16thC cliff-top castle to admire on the route.

Route Summary
A scenic walk in the low hills to the N of Grantown, enjoying wide-open views. There is added variety near the end of the route with a pretty section along the River Spey before entering mature pine forest, and passing a tranquil lochan on the edge of the impressive townscape.

Route Summary
This route takes in both town and country environments, with many historic associations and fine views. The Black Isle promontory offers a special mix of rolling fertile farmland, with cliffs on the south side, and a large fjord-like sheltered sea-water inlet on the north side.

(071) Fyrish Monument Jubilee Walk (Highland)

Route Summary
A well-known walk that relentlessly climbs through pine woods, thinning out as you reach the massive Fyrish Monument, shaped to represent the gates on the old city wall of the Indian city of Negapatam during the late 18th C. There are wonderful views of the Cromarty Firth area.

(070) Glen Affric-Dog Falls-Coire Loch Circuit (Highland)

Route Summary
A fairly short walk in pine forest at beautiful Glen Affric. The 238m overall ascent on the route is compensated for by the scenic attractions of the fast-running River Affric, the peaceful Coire Loch, and the fabulous view westwards up the Glen from the highest point reached.
