I parked to the W at Boat Wood on the bend in the road, from there along the by-way then W over access land, bit of a bog-trot from there, pillar in condition, very windy but sunny.

Parked at the start of prow to the east next to the bull in field sign. This time there were 3 massive bulls at the stile so no entry but the lady farmer out riding her horse. Told me to acsses the moor from directly through her property. Heat building and mist now cleared good views trig all intact.

2nd trig today of 2. A 2 mile return walk in the National Park on a warm sunny day. A Bull was resting in a corner of the field and fortunately showed no interest in moving in the heat!

In much need of a "mini adventure" so parked up in Ildeton and headed for 3 Nuttalls with an overnight stay at Auchope Hut. This pillar was an added bonus. A nice, gentle stroll takes you to a pleasant summit. Pillar sitting well. Gifted to the humble flask, no Starbucks or cafes in the Cheviots.

My third visit, different route: parked E of the TP by Boat Wood and followed bridal way N through the wonderful Calder Dean and past Ilderton Moor Farm and picked up PROW to head SW up the hill past the hut circles, then on over to Reaveley Hill. Low patchy cloud covered some of the higher neighbouring hills but the views were still worthwhile.

21/07/16 Second Visit: Same route vas previous visit - an agreeable 2.5 hour stroll from Ilderton along the National Cycleway north west to Middleton, then south west to Middleton Dean, south over Middleton Moor to The Dod finally east over HH. Excellent views all round, the view west of Dunsmoor Hill is going to take a while to recover from the extensive felling of Threestoneburn Wood. 07/12/15: First Visit - This was the 'epiphany' moment where I realised I tended to plot random walks so they took in Trig Point pillars, and determined to research more about them...and came across this Web Site! Fortunately on this visit I took some decent photos, and thought it would be interesting to take a photo of each of the compass points of every other Trig Point.
