GREENVILLE, Pitt County — During February of 2024, the Pitt County Sheriff's Office partnered with other agencies including U.S. Marshals and N.C. Department of Corrections in Operation Heartbreaker.
This was to assure that registered sex offenders living in Pitt County are compliant with laws of the state.
Law enforcement officers did more than 300 checks as part of the operation.
It led to 16 arrests for violations of the sex offender registry.
Those arrested include:
- Stephon M. Bandy, 40, of Greenville - charged with failure to register and released on $10,000 bond.
- Justin C. Dickinson, 46, of Farmville - charged with failure to register and released on a $10,000 bond.
- Linwood E. Green, 60, of Greenville - charged with failure to register and released on a $10,000 bond.
- Ethan Z. Hall, 30, of Greenville - charged with failure to register and released on a $10,000 bond.
- Kwame L. Jenkins, 32, of Greenville - charged with failure to register and probation violation, released on a $35,000 bond.
- Christopher C. Johnson, 47, of Greenville - charged with failure to register and parole violation, jailed without bond.
- Donald M. Little, 29, of Greenville - charged with failure to register and released on a $10,000 bond.
- Laplois J. Lott, 52, of Ayden - charged with failure to register and released on a $25,000 bond.
- William D. Payton, 64, of Greenville - charged with failure to register and released on a $10,000 bond.
- Julius M. Porter, 38, of Bethel - charged with failure to register and parole violation, released on a $10,000 bond.
- Freddy D. Pyle, 77, of Washington - charged with failure to register and released on a $10,000 bond.
- Antwan J. Sharpe, 38, of Greenville - charged with failure to register and released on a $10,000 bond.
- William C. Shiver, 70, of Greenville - charged with failure to register and released on a $10,000 bond.
- Travis L. Stevens, 32, of Greenville - charged with failure to register and parole violation, jailed without bond.
- Carlton M. Strickland, 59, of Greenville - charged with failure to register and was jailed under a $10,000 bond.
- Jimmy E. Williams, 49, of Grimesland - charged with failure to register and and was jailed under a $5,000 bond.
