The First UK printing published by Hamish Hamilton, London in 1977. The BOOK is in near Fine condition. Light pushing at the spine tips and some light toning to the board edges. Very light age related markings to the boards. A neat contemporary penned gift inscription to the upper corner of the blank verso of the decorated front end-paper. Inscribed by the author in green ink to the blank verso of the decorated front end-paper : 'For John, with worst wishes, Raymond Briggs, 1998'. No wrapper, as issued. Profusely illustrated throughout. One of Briggs' iconic titles and scarce with such attributes. The book is protected in a removable Mylar archival cover. More images available on request.
