Troglocyclops janstocki is proposed to accommodate cyclopids from Hatchet Bay Cave, Eleuthera Island, Bahamas. The species is the most primitive member of the Halicyclopinae because of the presence of 15-segmented antennules, mandibular palp reduced to 3 setae, one of them quite long and plumose, a bisegmented maxillary endopodite, and 3 segments in the maxilliped endopodite. These copepods possess the first pediger still distinct, being partially enclosed dorsally and laterally by a carapace-like extension of the posterior margin of the dorsal cephalic shield. This latter character represents a plesiomorphic state shared with the primitive cyclopinids and, within the Cyclopidae, only with the Euryteinae. The new taxon is the only known species of Halicyclopinae having two apical spines on the terminal segment of the exopodite of legs 2 to 4, and the intercoxal sclerites of the legs 1 and 2 sexually dimorphic. The phylogenetic importance of each of these characters is discussed.

Abstract Halicyclops cenoticola sp. nov. is described from cenotes of the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico. The new species shares exclusively with H. caridophilus and H. tetracanthus the presence of 2 inner setae on the leg 5 exopod in the males. As far as is known, the new species is distinguished trom all its congeners in having the dorsal caudal seta as long as the outer middle caudal seta; legs 2 and 3 are dimorphic concerning the structure of the 3 inner setae on the terminal endopodal segment; and leg 6 of both the male and female consists of only 2 elements. An identification key for the Halicyclops species known trom the Caribbean Region, the Gulf of Mexico, Bermuda, and the coast of French Guiana is included.

Teratocyclops cubensis Pleşa, 1981 (Copepoda, Cyclopidae) is redescribed on the basis of spec-imens deposited in the collection of the Speleological Institute “Emil Racovitza”, Cluj, Romania. The genus TeratocyclopsPleşa, 1981 is rede ned, mainly characterized by the following characters of the female: the general habitus of the body, the 11-segmented antennule, the presence of the ves-tigial exopodite on the antenna, the segmentation of the swimming legs, the structure of the distal segment of the endopoditeof leg P4 with 1 spine and 3 setae, and the proximal segment of leg 5 fused to the somite. The relationship to the closely related genera MetacyclopsKiefer, 1927, Apocyclops Lindberg, 1942, and GoniocyclopsKiefer, 1955 are discussed. RÉSUMÉ

Plankton samples obtained from the lagoon system Laguna Navío Quebrado, in northern Colombia, yielded male and female specimens of an undescribed cyclopoid copepod of the genus Halicyclops. The new species belongs to the highly diverse and widely distributed thermophilus-complex. It closely resembles Halicyclopsclarkei Herbst, 1982 from Louisiana and Halicyclopsbowmani Rocha & Iliffe, 1993 from Bermuda. These species share the same armature of P1-P4EXP3, with a 3443 spine formula and the terminal antennary segment with 5 setae. However, Halicyclopsgaviriai sp. n. can be separated from both Halicyclopsclarkei and Halicyclopsbowmani by the morphology of the anal pseudoperculum, the proportions of the fourth antennulary segment, the length of the inner basipodal spine of P1, the P1EXP/inner basipodal spine inner length ratio and the length/width ratio of the caudal rami. This is the third species of Halicyclops recorded from Colombia and the first one described from this country. With ...

The constitution of the primary teachers training curriculum has always been a result of several strengths for the definition of reference professional knowledges, i.e., definition of which knowledges of the curriculum training should characterize and specify the teacher’s profession. In the present text, we point out elements of indicative tension that exists between the providing of a basic and general training, therefore wide and a professional one, directed to the teacher practice specific demand, as it turns to the curriculum establishment to train a primary teacher. We prioritize the propositions for the structuring of the Normal School curriculum from the state of Minas Gerais, from an analysis of the Decree n. 9.450/ 1930. The chosen documentation for the construction of this text is from official nature and reveals us a movement that gave away little by little, a meanigful place to the untitled professional knowledges. The mathematical knowledges offered were of three natur...
