A custard chain is set to officially open its first Georgia location this week.

Andy’s Frozen Custard will open on June 14 in Alpharetta at 3670 Old Milton Parkway.

The shop will be the newest of more than 70 other locations in states including Arizona, North Carolina and Texas.

Vanilla and chocolate custard is made every hour, and customers can choose to mix in toppings, such as seasonal fruits or pies to create a concrete. Andy’s also offers Jackhammers, a concrete with a hole carved into the middle, and filled with a topping. Options include the James Brownie Funky Jackhammer, custard blended with peanut butter and brownies and filled with hot fudge.

Andy's will have a drive-through and walk-up windows as well as a patio with outdoor seating.
"This is not your typical ice cream shop," said Tom Maune, general manager of the Alpharetta store in a press release. "The retro vibe and iconic look of the stores create a space where customers want to hang out and socialize—and eat great custard, of course."

Andy’s was started in Missouri in 1986 by John and Carol Kuntz, and named for their son Andy.

Four more metro Atlanta Andy’s locations are planned in the next two to three years.
