You may remember vlogger Carli Bybel from our Allure Beauty Box collaboration back in April where she helped us pick products to give to our loyal subscribers. Well, yesterday she posted "Exciting news coming tomorrow!!!!" on her IG stories, leaving her loyal fan base of over five million waiting in anticipation.
Early this morning, she finally dropped the news that she would be collaborating with beauty brand Il Makiage) to create a lip collection. Bybel shared the news on Instagram along with a picture of herself in a purple sequined tube dress on a purple galaxy background captioned, "AH!!!! OMG! I’ve been waiting for this day for over a year!!! My brand new lip collection with @ilmakiage is launching 08.08 at 10 AM EST on ilmakiage.com😩😍 I first met the IL MAKIAGE team awhile back and fell in love with the brand and team. Their quality is unmatched. As you guys know I am very particular about what I put my name on and i can honestly say i put my entire heart and soul into these products! I am SO proud to announce Carli Bybel x IL MAKIAGE, a galaxy inspired collection of my absolute go to shades!!! I can’t wait to show you everything. I know you will be as excited as me! For those that don't know about Il Makiage, it's a beauty brand that relaunched in the U.S. last year after rebranding. Its ethos is built on rejecting the natural, no-makeup makeup look and embracing maximalism and bold makeup. On July 10, it reformatted its website supposedly to change the process of buying makeup online.
According to a press release, in order to "fix the current disconnected consumer journey" it created a platform that would suggest products to users based on inspiration photos. Customers would be able to swipe left or right (similar to Tinder or other dating apps) to choose what they like and dislike, which would connect them to looks and products geared toward their interests. They'd also be given a 14-day trial to sample products before purchasing.
With Il Makiage's innovation and Bybel's flawless makeup looks, this collaboration is an exciting one. It will be interesting to see what galaxy-inspired lip colors they come up with as she tends to wear lots of nude glosses and lipsticks. Based on the promo photos, we're hopeful this collaboration is filled with lots of purples and blues.
