Fort Falls by Marc Bacon

Fort Falls, located in Fort Niobrara National Wildlife Refuge near Valentine, Nebraska is one of many waterfalls along the Niobrara river. The falls are a beautiful surprise when visiting the wildlife refuge that can be found by taking a short hike from the top of the canyon down to the base of the waterfall.

I visited the waterfall early one summer morning. The sun had not yet filled the canyon, but the morning glow was enough for me to capture this image.

Fort Niobrara National Wildlife Refuge is home to a herd of bison, elk and a number of other wildlife and is worth the visit.
