poster + lettering

This poster was designed in response to a prompt, and uses original letterform designs and illustration to convey the feeling of instability and falling implied by the meaning of the word ‘Ossified’ in Ireland, which means inebriated, but also to play off of the more common meaning — to ossify: to turn to bone. The word Ossified is given a human-like shadow made out of the texture of bone, and the details of its wobbly stature are noted in type that evokes medical or botanical notation in freefall. This poster was awarded a Graphis Merit Award in the Type in Use category and is listed in the Graphis Typography 4 Annual ’18.
