Men and women have very different online dating experiences. One of the foremost complaints from women is fear – of being harassed, ridiculed, judged, stalked, or the concern that comes from knowing that thousands of strange men have seen their pictures and read their biographies, and might even have access to their personal information.

That's where Pickable comes in: it anonymizes women's profiles, allowing them to search for a match with a certain peace of mind that comes from knowing their own identity is hidden. But in a scenario like this one, what's in it for the guys?

For men who enjoy browsing through profiles of available, beautiful women, well, the short answer is... not much. But if you're tired of the doing all of the legwork and want a chance to sit back while the matches come to you, Pickable could be great.

Sign-Up Process

Pickable is completely free to use, available in both the Apple App Store and Google Play store.

The actual sign-up process is completely unique, in that women and men have very different experiences. Women, in fact, don't even need to complete a profile, provide photos, or fill out information about their age or education/employment. Nada.Men, on the other hand, have to sign up, create a profile, upload one photo (and only one photo), and enable the location settings on their phone. Furthermore, you'll have to actively set yourself as "pickable" for your profile to be viewable to the women searching, and even then you're only searchable for a set amount of time.

Members & Interactions

Pickable takes away all of the hard work men put in when browsing through profiles and looking for matches. Instead, as a man, you just create a profile, set yourself to Pickable for 24 hours, and then wait for women to show interest in you.

The app uses geolocation to provide matches within relative proximity to you, and if a woman does show interest, you'll receive a chat request. From the woman's perspective, she'll have most of the usual information about you from the start (what you look like, how old you are, and any additional info you choose to provide), but as a man you'll be flying blind. While that can be exhilarating and even a little freeing, it also takes away a lot of the fun of flirting with quirky one-liners based off their profile, leaving some to maybe question the incentive of being on the app in the first place.

Still, since it's free to use and doesn't require more of your time and energy than that initial setup, it's a great app to run in the background. However, we don't recommend using this as your main dating app, as for men, it doesn't provide the same day-to-day options that are easily available on more popular mainstream dating apps.
