Rockside Band: Is a Cleveland based Blues and Rock Band playing in the traditions of Little Walter, Robert Cray, Cream, Paul Butterfield, Alan Toussaint, Taj Mahal, Lonnie Mack, The Kinsey Report, Stevie Ray Vaughn; some you may have never heard before and some you will never tire of hearing. 

They have performed as Rockside at 2023 The Kent Blues Fest, The Cleveland Rocks Past Present and Future Concert Tribute To Jimmy Ley, Alan Greene, Butch Armstrong, numerous private events and Local club around town including the House of Swing, Cebar’s Euclid Tavern, Otis’ Cruise Inn, Kurt's Getaway, The Standard, Sassy’s Bar and Grille, The Sand Trap, The PW Family Tavern, The Union House, The Burnt Pickle in Kent, The 2023 Kent Blues Fest, The 2023 Heights Music Hop at the Boss Dog Brewery, and at the Cleveland Blues Society Monthly Jams. Individually, they have a long history of playing both local and national venues and stages.

These four individuals have come together through a history of playing together through different experiences along with kismet, bringing them together to create a sound that is new while bringing to the forefront a familiar vibe, introducing some great songs to a new audience and putting a unique twist on the music.

Chip Fitzgerald: Masterful guitarist, soft and sultry vocals using phrasing and timing developed through study, experience along with his inherent gift. Started playing in High School then continued with The Disciples, Chip and Friends, E.T. Hooley. He joined Pacific, Gas and Electric before settling back on Ohio.  He began playing with Cleveland Blues Society Hall of Fame Legend Guitar Slim.

Eric Vogt: AKA “Hot Sauce” He is an Actor, a Teacher while being a consummate professional musician. He plays many different genres of music- including Kirtan (Indian Raga), a seasoned hand percussionist.

Fred "the Cat" Patton on bass Guitar and Vocals. Fred is a special and unique Bass Player. He is able to hold the beat together allowing the audience to feel the music.  He is a vocalist and entertainer who always keeps the groove going.

Ken Porter: Electric and Acoustic Guitarist, bass. He has an amazing knack for hearing what others are playing and creatively filling the space with just the right notes.  A long time music enthusiast, musician and singer songwriter whose Influences are Led Zeppelin, Rush, Free, Pat Benatar, and others. He studies the techniques and musical styles of many of the master guitarists of our time. 

Special Guests:  Donny Baker is a long time band mate of Chip’s from the Days of E.T. Hooley.  They have a special musical bond and friendship. Donny is a Music Teacher and plays with Madison Crawl, and other bands in town.  His experiences are vast and he has a wealth of knowledge of the music, guitar and history.  When available he will join Rockside on the stage.
